  • Breath Detection:
    • The device continuously monitors the patient’s breathing through a breath detection sensor.
    • If no breath is detected for 15 seconds, the device triggers the Absence of Breath Alarm and switches to Auto Pulse Mode to ensure oxygen is delivered periodically until normal breathing resumes.
  • Oxygen Concentration Monitoring:
    • The concentrator checks the oxygen concentration being produced.
    • If the concentration drops below 87% for an extended period, the system raises a Low Oxygen Concentration Alarm to alert the user.
  • Flow Rate Adjustment:
    • The algorithm allows for adjusting flow rates from 1 to 5 based on the user’s prescribed oxygen requirements.
    • It automatically adjusts the oxygen output based on the breathing rate detected, ensuring precise oxygen delivery.
  • Power Source Management:
    • The device switches between AC power and battery power seamlessly when needed.
    • It tracks battery charge levels and sends alerts if the charge is low or the battery is depleted.
  • Self-Diagnostics:
    • The concentrator regularly checks for potential system failures, including sensors, sieve beds, valves, and compressors.
    • If any issue is detected, the device will trigger an appropriate alarm (e.g., Compressor Fail, Sieve Bed Fail) and shut down if necessary to prevent further damage.
  • Temperature Monitoring:
    • The algorithm monitors system and battery temperatures.
    • If the temperature exceeds or drops below safe operating limits, it triggers System Hot/Cold Alarms and prompts the user to adjust the environment.
  • Auto-Pulse Mode:
    • If no breath is detected, the machine switches to Auto Pulse Mode to deliver oxygen pulses at regular intervals until normal breathing is detected again.
  • Emergency Shut Down:
    • In the event of critical failures such as oxygen concentration dropping below 50%, the system shuts down after issuing an alert to prevent ineffective oxygen therapy.
